Widnes 24 - Whitehaven 20 Grand Final Spencer Miller got Haven off to the dream start after capitalising on a mistake by winger Damien Blanch to touch down in the opening two minutes. Rudd converted from the touchline. However the lead was short lived as Widnes hit back with tries from Blanch and Smith to put the hosts in the lead. Dodd converted both tries for the Vikings. Rudd then converted a penalty to close the gap to just four points. Widnes now started to dominate and Blanch made a 60 yard dash to allow Dodd to score leaving Haven 18-8 down at the interval. Haven were the first to score through Leroy Joe, however the conversion was missed by Rudd. Gleeson then scored for thr Vikings just to show Widnes had taken a firm grip. Rudd spoiled some hopes of a Haven fight back after Miller and Seeds scored but the extra points were lost. There was a last bid from Leafa breaking through and tapping forward for the nimble Maden but Dodd denied the chance. Haven: Broadbent, Calvert,
