Doncaster 32 (21 - 12) 32 Haven
Whitehaven started well with Steve Maden first over. Carl Rudd
converted so Haven led 6-0. But Doncaster hit back with two tries
in minutes one from Handford, the other from Royston. Holroyd,
who later went on to record his 2000th professional career point,
converted both.
Holroyd stayed on
a high taking two more from a penalty. Ross scored a try and
Holroyd grabbed a drop goal.
Flyin winger Craig
Calvert touched down in the corner and Rudd proved steady getting
the angled conversion.
With that man Holroyd
kicking two more pen points half-time was a grim 21-12.
John Duffy got Haven
was quick out of the traps to score up the middle. Carl Rudd
converted But the home side scored yet again and the going got
tough.
Fortunately Marc Jackson
crashed (literally) past the posts to touch down and Rudd converted.
But they came back
again with a try from Danny Mills.
David Seeds touched
down and stand in kicker Marc Jackson to added the extras. Jackson
kicked cleanly on a penalty kick. But the Dons snatched another
Holroyd drop goal to level the finale.
