Read Guest House is located in the heart of the Georgian conservation area of Whitehaven. It is within easy walking distance of shops, marina and attractions such as the Whitehaven Rum Story. Whitehaven looks out to the Isle of Man and is just nine miles from the Lake District.
The house is named after one of its illustrious residents, Matthias Read (1669-1747) a Londoner who came to the town in 1690 when Whitehaven was the second most important seaport on the Western seaboard.
