Play Offs Victory 14 Sep 2008 -
Whitehaven dumped Halifax out of the National League One play-offs, setting up a League One final eliminator against Salford at The Willows on Thursday. The West Yorkshire side had claimed an early lead through Miles Greenwood, with Graham Holroyd converting. Whitehaven responded through teenager Gregg McNally before Halifax scored again through Mark Flanagan for a 10-4 lead. McNally was over again before half-time, with Tane Manihera levelling the scores at 10-10. The sides traded scores after the interval with Dana Wilson and Paul Southern scoring for Halifax and Aide Adebisi and McNally touching down for the Cumbrian side. But with the scores locked at 22-22 late drop goals from Manihera and Marc Jackson proved decisive. |
