About us
The Miners Lamp Theatre
Company was set up in 2001 by Alan Butler and Eleanor Butler
to promote and develop a well-defined Cumbrian theatrical identity
and to produce and perform those plays which have a strong Cumbrian
Language content.
The Cumbrian Language is defined as the traditional Old Norse
based vernacular as spoken in all its forms and regional variations
in what is now the county of Cumbria.
Suitable for
Schools, community, parish and
village halls, theatres, civic halls, every kind of festival
including drama and literary festivals and private functions.
We can perform anything from a twenty minute sketch to our full
two hour, or more, Evening of Cumbrian Drama show. Commissions
for individual written and performance pieces invited. |
