Coach Paul Cullen has expressed his delight at Whitehaven's achievement in going joint top of the Northern Ford Premiership after the 24-2 win at Gateshead.
"This time last year we were bottom so to go full circle in 12 months is quite dramatic.
The beauty of it is we've done this with a locally-produced squad, full of young players who want to have a go for the club."
