Haven 56- Doncaster 0
August 18 2002

The pitch was a
paddling pool at one end but Haven proved that the team were
not reliant on Paul Cullen to maintain their commitment. Peter
Smith will deservedly be proud of the lads. The Doncaster pack
were heavier than Haven and were floundering as Haven showed
zip and creative play in both first and second halves. Gary Purdham
opened scoring with Kirkbride converting. Soon after Howard Hill
braved the paddling pool to swim over the try line. He was then
followed by Seedsy who dive bombed over.
After a bit of handbags at
dawn Howard Hill was sin binned. His only crime according to
onlookers and Howard himself was "getting smacked".
Leroy Joe had yet another storming
match and ducked and weaved his way in for a solo effort.Seedsy
swam in again and Kirkbride converted two of the tries.

Smith scored and Kirkbride converted to make it a healthy 32-0
at half time.

Haven really enjoyed the second half with fast fluid play entertaining
the Kells End. Tries came from Kirkbride, Seeds, Joe and Jacko.
