Just One Kick

Barrow 5 - 4 Haven (2-4)

In blustery conditions Haven just held the lead in the first half thanks to the only try of the macth from Craig Walsh, courtesy of a Kiddie break. But the conversion was missed in the wind and Barrow already had a penalty kick on the score sheet.
Barrow had a marginal advantage in the seond half but their only scores came from the boot of Darren Holt, both a penalty and the winning drop goal just five minutes from the final hooter.
Coach Paul Cullen voiced disappointment that Spencer Miller's try was disallowed in the closing minutes. The ref. ruled that there had been a forward pass.
This Wednesday sees the re-run Chorley Links game at the Recre...kick-off 7.30pm
The Alliance side had better fortune on Saturday beating Doncaster Dragons 38-10.
If only the first team could match the record of the Alliance side. Haven's Alliance side are now third from the top of Div one after a 38-10 scoreline beating Doncaster Dragons.
