Promising bursts from Howard
Hill and Aaron Lester failed to get that vital backing and finishing.
There were less handling errors this time, but defensive weaknesses
meant Leigh dominated Haven's end of the field.
Haven 8 - 30(2-10) Leigh
Grim faces from departing fans
as Haven failed to gel again and let the visiting Centurions
scurry all over the field.
Leigh had a warm up training session at Kells that morning...did
Haven?
Only try for Haven came from Spencer Miller one of the yet again
late substitutions by coach Cullen. Conversion and a goal from
Paul O'Neill
"We need a scrum-half" was the plea from many Haven
fans.
A glimpse of future potential was the spirit shown by Dean Vaughan,
Spence Miller and Alan Bone when given their chance...a little
late in the game.
The attendance figure of just over 1,000 showed the anticipated
dip from the previous week.
The hardest Leigh player for the Haven defence to come to grips
with was the greased lightening of Neil Turley.
